Working at Covance
Agency

Covance offers undergraduates a great opportunity to gain industry work experience in the UK!

Undergraduate Placements (One-Year Term)

When you are accepted as a Covance undergraduate placement, you will perform degree-related work that is challenging and valuable to both you and Covance.

You are paired with a designated trainer/mentor who is committed to your professional training and development during the year and who will provide valuable coaching and performance feedback. Undergraduate placements are treated as regular employees during their year with Covance. This enables you to really understand and appreciate what it's like to work within a commercially focussed, large organisation.

At the end of the term, during a meeting with your supervisor and university tutor, you will deliver a presentation on what you've learned during your year at Covance.

Summer Placements Include:

  • Metabolism Operations, Environmental Sciences

Work Experience Students (One or Two-Week Terms)

Covance's work experience programme provides junior students with real industry work experience. You perform work related to your study and level of study - i.e., Science A Levels or GCSEs - which are both interesting and challenging.

Each work experience student is paired with a designated trainer/mentor who is typically their peer within the department. This trainer/mentor works with you during the one or two weeks that you are on site. Work experience students are involved in a variety of tasks that enable them to understand and appreciate what it's like to work within a scientific organisation. At the end of the term, you will deliver a presentation on key learning points during a meeting with your supervisor and university tutor.
